Controlling G-Series Objects From a System
Running D-Series
Doing this gives you access not only to SCF but also to PUP and COUP commands on
the target system.
If the G-series SCP has been configured to run at a high PIN, it will be unable to
communicate with a C-series SCP.
Controlling G-Series Objects From a System Running D-Series
Figure 1-6 shows SCF communications from a system running D-series to a system
running G-series.
SCF on the system running D-series can communicate with the local SCP to
communicate with the old subsystems (Expand and X25AM, for example). By logging
on to the system running G-series and running SCF there (shown in bold), the D-series
system operator can communicate with the subsystems on the G-series system that
are new ($ZZKRN and $ZZWAN, for example) and old (Expand and X25AM, for
example).
Note. You could change systems within SCF by using a command like the following:
\G00-> SYSTEM \D40
But doing this gives you ready access only to SCF. You cannot run PUP or COUP across the
system this way.
