How to Use the CONFBASE File
Figure 1-2 illustrates the differences between the types of system configuration files.
How to Use the CONFBASE File
The CONFBASE file is created during system configuration and placed on the SYSnn
subvolume specified in the CONFTEXT file. The CONFBASE file for a new system is
on $SYSTEM.SYS00. The following system-load processes are preconfigured in this
file:

The system disk
•
The $ZZKRN Kernel subsystem manager
•
The $ZZSTO Storage subsystem manager
•
The $ZHOME reliable home-terminal process
It is unlikely you will ever need to load the system from the CONFBASE file. However,
if the current configuration file has become corrupted and there is no other
configuration file from which you can load the system, use the procedure in How to Re-
create the Initial CONFIG File on page 1-7.
