Installing MIGSCF
•
MIGSCF does not process a nested command file. MIGSCF issues a warning
message when it detects such a file.
•
MIGSCF does not convert a command invoking PUP or COUP on a remote
system. MIGSCF issues a warning message when it detects such a command.
Installing MIGSCF
On D-series RVUs, the installation process places the MIGSCF utility on the
$SYSTEM.SYSTEM subvolume.
On G-series RVUs, the installation process places MIGSCF files in the following
locations:
Installing the COUP and PUP macros as substitute macros for the obsolete PUP and
COUP utilities helps users who accidentally enter a D-series COUP or PUP command
at the TACL prompt to find out the G-series SCF replacement command. This feature
is described in the next subsection.
How MIGSCF Handles Obsolete PUP and COUP Commands
On G-series RVUs, TACL responds to an entered COUP or PUP command by invoking
MIGSCF. MIGSCF then notifies you that COUP and PUP have been replaced by SCF
and informs you of the appropriate SCF command to enter instead.
1. If you enter “COUP” or “PUP” at the TACL prompt, MIGSCF displays the following
message:
*** WARNING *** { COUP | PUP } has been replaced by SCF.
2. If you further specify a COUP or PUP command, MIGSCF also displays the
equivalent SCF syntax:
The equivalent SCF command is:
converted-command
3. Depending on the COUP or PUP command you entered, a warning or error
message might also be displayed.
