Using FINDER Pattern Files
FINDER is a utility on all current RVUs that performs pattern matching within files.
Using the FNDRCOUP, FNDRPUP, and FNDROBEY pattern files, FINDER can find, on
any running disk on the system, any COUP and PUP command files and any TACL
command files that invoke PUP or COUP.
You use the FINDER pattern matching utility (T2079) to:
Search all text (code 101) files in the fileset list you supply and, within that list, find:
°
All PUP and COUP command files
°
All TACL command files on your system that invoke PUP or COUP
°
Other user-specified text strings representing obsolete products, commands, or
command options
Issue a full report identifying these files and optionally listing each line that contains
a PUP or COUP command or user-specified text string
Optionally issue a summary report about the search conducted
The FINDER utility is also documented online in the Finder User’s Manual at
$SYSTEM.ZFINDER.FINDMAN. You can use TEDIT to read the write-protected file or
TGAL to print it.
