Although these subsystem managers are automatically configured during system startup, you can
change their characteristics by using the SCF ALTER PROCESS command.
The $ZCNF Configuration Utility Process
The $ZCNF configuration utility process is configured to start early during system load in processors
0 and 1. The primary purpose of $ZCNF is to handle access to, and information requests about,
the system configuration database file (CONFIG). Figure 2 shows the relationship of $ZCNF to
the other processes that are started during a system load. The $ZCNF configuration utility process
creates and manages the $ZPM persistence manager. Then $ZPM starts the generic processes
configured for this system.
