ADD DISK Command
PRIMARYCPU number
is the processor in which the primary IOP starts. If you omit this attribute, the
processor is automatically chosen based on the physical location of the device.
The processor in which the primary IO process runs and the processor in which the
backup process runs need not be located in the same topology branch.
PRIMARYDEVICEID { number | ( shelf, bay ) }
(45xx and M8xxx disks only) is the device ID of either a nonmirrored disk or of the
primary disk of a mirrored volume.
For 45xx disks:
For M8xxx Fibre Channel disks:
If you configure a disk volume for use with an FCSA connected to an ESS, you
cannot specify PRIMARYDEVICEID.
PRIMARYLOCATION ( group, module, slot )
(for internal magnetic disks) is the location of the slot where the primary disk of the
mirrored volume is installed.
(for 45xx, ESS, and M8xxx magnetic disks) is the location of the adapter that
controls the primary path to the disk.
This attribute is optional if PRIMARYSAC (page 14-20) is given in name format but
required if given in number format.
The primary path and the backup path need not be located in the same topology
branch, nor do they need to be in the same topology branch as the processors.
PRIMARYLUN number
specifies the logical unit number (LUN) of a primary disk device.
The ESS administrator must give you the LUN so that you can specify it in this
attribute.
The default value for PRIMARYLUN is 0.
number
is the unit number of the disk. number is in the range 1
through 7.
shelf is the disk-drive enclosure number. shelf is in the range 1
through 4.
bay is the slot number of the disk within the enclosure. bay is in
the range 1 through 14.
Note. You can configure as many as 1,000 LUNs per FCSA. You can configure as many
as 125 LUNs per processor pair.
