Object States and Substates 
The SCF STATUS command displays the current state and substate of an object. For 
a description of states and substates:
•
For DISK objects, see Object States and Substates of Magnetic Disks on page 2-5.
•
For SCSI objects, see SCSI Object States on page 2-10.
•
For TAPE objects, see TAPE Object States on page 2-11.
Following are the similarities between PUP object states and SCF object states and 
substates.

D  STOPPED DOWN The device is not available. 
H STOPPED HARDDOWN The device was put into a hard down 
state by the operator of a hardware 
error.
