Deleting a Tape Drive
The DELETE TAPE Command (page 14-79) removes a tape drive from the system
configuration database.
Considerations for DELETE TAPE
•
Stop the tape drive before deleting it.
•
If the DELETE TAPE command does not work, try using the RESET TAPE,
FORCED command and then issue the DELETE command.
Example
1. Verify the tape drive is in the STOPPED state:
-> STATUS $TAPE0
2. Remove the tape drive from the system configuration database:
-> DELETE $TAPE0
3. Verify the tape drive is removed from the system configuration database:
-> INFO $TAPE0
