Overview of Cabling and Powering on the SCSI
Extenders
To cable on power on the SCSI extenders:
1. Connect the Fiber-to-SCSI extender (CTFSE) to a Supported Storage Device on
page 4-2.
2. Connect the Fiber Cable Between the SCSI Extenders on page 4-3.
3. Connect the SCSI-to-Fiber extender (CTSFE) to a Supported SCSI Port on the
NonStop S-Series Server on page 4-3.
4. Connect the Fiber Cable Between the SCSI Extenders on page 4-3.
5. Power On the Storage Device on page 4-4.
6. Power On the Fiber-to-SCSI extender (CTFSE) on page 4-4
7. Power On the SCSI-to-Fiber extender (CTSFE) on page 4-4.
When cabling and powering and the SCSI extenders and connected storage devices,
refer to Figure 4-1.
For an example of an installation configuration, refer to Figure 1-1, SCSI Extender
Configuration, on page 1-3.
Connect the Fiber-to-SCSI extender (CTFSE) to
a Supported Storage Device
1. Connect the 68-pin differential pin terminator SCSI cable to the SCSI Channel Port
on the Fiber-to-SCSI extender (CTFSE) as shown in Figure 4-1.
2. Connect the other end of the 68-pin SCSI cable to a supported storage device.
Refer to Table 1-1, Supported Storage Devices, on page 1-2.
