About This Manual
Both the HP NonStop operating system environment and the Safeguard subsystem
provide tools to help you secure your system. This manual suggests ways of using
these tools.
Who Should Use This Manual
Sections 1 through 4 of this manual are intended for the security administrator. A
security administrator helps to develop and implement a security policy to ensure the
integrity of information within the data-processing organization.
The remaining sections of this manual are aimed at different audiences, including
general users of NonStop systems, application programmers, the system
administration team, and electronic data processing (EDP) auditors. A separate section
is dedicated to each of these types of users.
