SSG interrelates with other HP products as shown in Figure 1-1.
The CSG/SSG provides a bridge between programs running on Microsoft Windows-
based systems and programs running on NonStop systems. This bridge is in the form
of a communications-transport-layer-independent service. Additionally, the transport
service provides an OLE automation application programmer interface (API) so that
Windows NT and Windows 95 programs can communicate with NonStop OS host
programs.
Using the CSG and SSG, developers can use OLE object browsers built into standard
development environments such as Visual C++, Visual Basic, or Delphi to
programmatically access HP NonStop OS programs.
A key feature of the CSG/SSG communications link is its ability to provide easy
programmatic access to NonStop OS subsystem command interpreters. Because of
HP fundamentals, command interpreters allow selective and modular implementation
of subsystem-specific graphical user interfaces.
