CSG Key Points to Remember
CSG Key Points to Remember
•
The CSG provides client applications with access to HP command interpreters.
•
The CSG provides client applications with access to programs for the NonStop
server.
•
The CSG eliminates the need for client applications to make transport-specific API
calls or to deal with transport configuration issues.
•
Because the CSG is a common transport service, it can provide common services
such as security authentication, trace, record, and playback capabilities.
•
The CSG encapsulates the Standard Microsoft Asynchronous Communications
and Standard WinSock TCP/IP transport layers.
SSG Overview
The SSG is the HP host portion of the Client Server Gateway as shown in Figure 1-4.
SSG stands for the SeeView Server Gateway because it is a SeeView that runs in
Server Mode. The SSG provides a gateway into the command interpreters on NonStop
systems.
Because the SSG is based on SeeView, it leverages many of the messaging benefits
provided by SeeView: automatic process creation, recovery, message caching, context
services, request/response blocking, and buffer allocation. The following subsections
describe these benefits in greater detail.
