Figure 1-5 and Figure 1-6 show that the message dialog required for a block-mode
command interpreter front-end is the same as the message dialog required for a
client/server host command interpreter gateway.
Block Mode
Figure 1-5 shows the message flow for SeeView when it runs as a block-mode
command interpreter front-end.
ServerMode
Figure 1-6 shows the message flow for SeeView when it runs as a server-mode
command interpreter front-end.
The only difference between the block-mode and the server-mode message
architecture is the nature of the I/O stream between the client and the server.
In the block-mode architecture (Figure 1-5), the I/O stream depends on T6530. In the
client-server architecture (Figure 1-6), the I/O stream is a grammar-based protocol
similar to Internet protocols.
