SSG Proxy Agent
When the SeeView kernel runs in server mode, there is no block-mode I/O, and it does
not have anything to do with T6530 block-mode. It does not even open a terminal.
When in ServerMode, SeeView functionality is entirely focused on process and
memory management, messaging, and multitasking NonStop OS command language
interpreters.
SSG Proxy Agent
Workstation client applications require a host proxy agent to solve the linker-to-linker
communications problem that occurs when a client application and a host command
interpreter need to communicate.
The SSG acts as a proxy agent to the command interpreters on HP host systems, as
shown in Figure 1-7. Both the client application and the host CI are both linkers in that
they both want to open and perform write-reads to each other. Linkers on different
frameworks cannot communicate without the services of an inverting proxy agent.
The SSG effectively converts command interpreters into servers by acting as a server
to both the CI and the client. In HP terminology, the SSG is a super server.
A single SSG can act as a proxy agent for over 100 command interpreters.
The SSG also provides significant performance benefits by reducing end-to-end path
length message overhead.
