Remote Node Installation
2. Enter values in each of the SSG Remote Install Configuration fields.
You need to supply the local super ID password even if there are no remote
passwords for the super ID. This password is required so that SSGsetup can gain
access to the global network user ID and properly secure remote files.
If you need help filling out any of the input fields, you can obtain context-sensitive
help, as shown in Figure 2-17, by putting the cursor in the input field and pressing
the Shift-Return keys.
3. You do not have to install SSG, OCM, and SeeView on remote nodes. For
example, to install only SSG files on remote nodes and not install OCM or SeeView
files, leave the OCM or SeeView installation subvolume fields blank for the
subsystem that you do not want to install. Figure 2-17 shows SSG being installed
on a remote node, but not OCM or SeeView.
The context-sensitive help for the SeeView Installation subvol field gives you these
options:
a. If you clear the contents of this field and press the Return key while the cursor
is in the field, a menu of volumes on your system appears. You can then select
one of these volumes and the SeeView Installation subvol field is automatically
updated with that volume name.
b. If you do not want to install SeeView remotely, but you want to install SSG
remotely, clear the SeeView Install subvol field and use the cursor down arrow
to move on to the next field.
