SSG Configuration File
The SSG configuration file, SSGCONF, sets up SSG configuration information specific
to your site and users. When you start the SSG command interpreter, SSGCOM, it
automatically searches for the SSGCONF file and executes the commands therein.
Any system with an active SSG should have a properly configured SSGCONF file on
the $SYSTEM.SYSTEM subvolume in addition to any user-configuration files located
on other subvolumes. If no SSGCONF file exists, SSG uses its built-in default values.
SSG searches for the configuration file in these places in this order:
1. $SYSTEM.SYSTEM subvolume
2. The user’s default subvolume if the SSGCONFSEARCH attribute is ON. (See the
description of the SET Command on page 4-8.)
The most important values to specify in the SSG configuration file are:
The access rights for the various command interpreters (CI) that the SSG can start
(SET SECURE option)
The search rules for SSG configuration files (SET SSGCONFSEARCH option)
Whether new SSGs are started on demand by SSGCOM (SET AUTOSTART
option)
The following example shows how to create and edit a new configuration file named
SSGCONF on the $SYSTEM.SYSTEM subvolume.
Note. The SSGCONF file is already created if you used SSGSETUP to perform a Local Node
Install.
