Verifying Proper Operation
Verifying Proper Operation
If you detect a problem with a ServerNet Cluster Switch, use these procedures to verify
proper operation.
Verifying the AC Power
1. Check the LEDs on the AC transfer switch:
a. Verify that all four green AC input LEDs on the AC transfer switch are lit.
•
If these LEDs are lit, continue to the next step.
•
If any of the LEDs are not lit, check that the power cords are correctly
connected from the AC transfer switch to the power sources. Refer to
Section 1, Introduction to the ServerNet Cluster Switch (Model 6770) to
check the power cord connections. If the power cords are correctly
connected, continue to the next step.
b. Check AC output LED 5 on the AC transfer switch.
•
If this LED is not lit, continue to the next step.
•
If this LED is lit, replace the AC transfer switch.
2. Check the LEDs on the UPS:
a. Check that the green AC input LED 2 on the UPS is lit.
•
If LED 2 on the UPS is lit, continue to the next step.
•
If this LED is not lit:
•
If AC input LEDs 1,3, 4, or 5 are lit, then there might be an AC
electrical problem, contact a licensed and qualified electrician.
•
If AC input LEDs 1,3, 4, or 5 are flashing red or are not lit:
a. Power on the UPS again and recheck the symptoms.
b. Check the power cord from the AC transfer switch to the UPS. Refer to
Section 1, Introduction to the ServerNet Cluster Switch (Model 6770)
to
check the power cord connections. If the power cord is correctly
connected, continue to the next step.
b. Check that the green power-on LED 16 on the UPS is lit. If this LED is not lit:
a. Power on the UPS again.
b. Recheck the power-on LED 16. If the LED continues to be unlit, contact
your service provider to replace the UPS.
