Verifying the Connection Between a ServerNet II
Switch and a Node
Verifying the Connection Between a ServerNet II Switch and a
Node
For each node connected to a ServerNet II Switch:
1. Verify that the ServerNet port LEDs are lit.
2. Verify that the fiber-optic ServerNet cables are connected to the correct MSEBs:
•
A ServerNet II Switch on the X fabric must connect to port 6 of the MSEB in
group 01, module 01, slot 51.
•
A ServerNet II Switch on the Y fabric must connect to port 6 of the MSEB in
group 01, module 01, slot 52.
If the MSEBs are not connected to the correct switch, contact your service
provider.
3. Verify that the nodes are connected to a port numbered 0 through 7 on the
ServerNet II Switch. If the port number is not 0 through 7 and you have established
a connection with a node on either fabric, contact your service provider.
4. Verify that both fiber-optic ServerNet cables from a node are connected to the
same port number on each of the ServerNet II Switches. If the cables are not
connected to the same port number and you have established a connection with a
node on either fabric, contact your service provider.
Verifying the Connection Between ServerNet II Switches
1. Verify that the ServerNet port LEDs 8 through 11 are lit.
2. Verify that the cables between the switches on the same fabric are connected to a
port numbered 8 through 11 on each ServerNet II Switch. If the cables are not
