Recovery Procedures for the ServerNet II Switch
Problems that might occur on the ServerNet II Switch include an incorrectly set fabric
LED or incorrect cable connections.
Resetting the Fabric LED on the ServerNet II Switch
If the Fabric LEDs are not correctly set on a ServerNet II Switch, reset the fabric LEDs:
1. From one of the nodes in the ServerNet cluster, log on to the OSM Service
Connection or the TSM Service Application.
2. From the tree pane:
a. If you are using the TSM Service Application, select the Cluster tab.
b. Double-click the External_ServerNet_X_Fabric or
External_ServerNet_Y_Fabric.
c. Right-click the Switch_X_GUID_nnnn or Switch_Y_GUID_nnnn.
3. From the pop-up menu, select Actions.
4. From the Actions dialog box:
a. Select the Set X-fabric LED action or Set Y-fabric LED action.
b. Click Perform Action.
c. Wait until the status for the action is completed.
5. From the tree pane (if using OSM) or Cluster tab (if using TSM), right-click the
External_ServerNet_X_Fabric.
6. From the pop-up menu, select Actions.
7. From the Actions dialog box
a. Select the Node Connectivity ServerNet Path Test.
b. Click Perform Action.
c. Wait until the status for the action is completed.
Correcting the Cable Connections Between ServerNet II
Switches
1. Make sure that the cables are correctly labeled on both sides.
2. Check the labels of the port numbers on the ServerNet II Switch carefully. Ports 8
and 9 are located to the right of ports 10 and 11.
3. If the cables are connected to different ports on each switch, disconnect the cable
from one of the switches and reconnect it using the same port as on its remote
switch.
