ServerNet II Switch
ServerNet II Switch PICs
The twelve output ports (Figure 1-8) on a ServerNet II Switch are numbered
0 through 11:
•
Single-wide PICs in ports 0 through 7 connect the switch to a node using single-
mode fiber-optic ServerNet cables.
•
Double-wide PICs in ports 8 through 11 connect switches on the same external
fabric together.
Unlike the PICs in the MSEBs, the PICs in the ServerNet II Switch are not replaceable
units.
Monitor Port on the ServerNet II Switch
The ServerNet II Switch monitors the AC transfer switch and UPS through the monitor
port located between the double-wide PICs in ports 8 and 11. A power-monitor cable
connects the monitor port on the ServerNet II Switch to one of the monitor ports on the
AC transfer switch.
AC/DC Power Supply of the ServerNet II Switch
The AC/DC power supply of the ServerNet II Switch is located in the back of the
switch. The AC power inlet on the AC/DC power supply connects to the IEC-320 power
inlet on the UPS (see Figure 1-6 on page 1-8).
Note. Ports 8 and 9 are located to the right of ports 10 and 11.
