Fiber-Optic ServerNet Cables
Fiber-Optic ServerNet Cables
Single-mode, fiber-optic ServerNet cables connect each node to the ServerNet II
Switches on each fabric.
Connections Between the ServerNet II Switch PICs and
MSEB PICs
A fiber-optic ServerNet cable from a ServerNet port numbered 0 through 7 on one of
the ServerNet II Switches connects to an MSEB in each node. You must connect both
MSEBs in a node using the same ServerNet port number on the appropriate ServerNet
II Switch on the X fabric and the Y fabric.
The maximum cable distance between each node and a ServerNet II Switch is 80
meters.
Connections Between ServerNet II Switches on the Same
Fabric
Ports numbered 8 through 11 connect ServerNet II Switches on the same fabric
together. You use either a two-lane link or four-lane link depending on your topology.
When cabling these ports, note that ports 8 and 9 are located to the right of ports 10
and 11.
ServerNet II Switch Connects to...
X fabric Port 6 in the MSEB in group 01, module 01, slot 51
Y fabric Port 6 in the MSEB in group 01, module 01, slot 52
