MSEBs must be installed in slots 51 and 52 of the group 01 enclosure of each node to
be connected a ServerNet II Switch.
•
To replace a SEB in the group 01 enclosure with an MSEB, refer to the guided
procedure or replace action for SEB-to-MSEB replacement. This guided
procedure is supported for the G06.09 RVU and later G-series RVUs.
•
When planning to install a ServerNet Cluster Switch, allow time to replace or move
hardware that is incompatible or located in the slots required for the modular
system expansion boards (MSEBs).
•
Before you install MSEBs in group 01, you must make the following changes if
necessary:
•
Remove any adapters from slot 51 or 52 of the group 01 enclosure
•
Delete any LBU objects or ADAPTER objects configured in either of these
slots from the system configuration database.
•
You can continue to use SEBs in any group enclosure other than group 01.
Required Software
You must install the any required software (see Figure 2-1) on a node before you
connect it to a ServerNet II Switch. Refer to the ServerNet Cluster Manual for more
information about any needed SPRs.
