Required Firmware and Configuration
Refer to the following manuals for more information about the commands supported for
the SCF interface to these subsystems:
Service Processor (SP) Firmware
When you install the required software on a node, make sure that you have
successfully updated all service processors with the latest version of SP firmware.
Refer to the OSM or TSM online help for information about updating SP firmware.
ServerNet II Switch Firmware
The firmware in a ServerNet II Switch allows management software running on a node
in a cluster to control and to configure that ServerNet II Switch. The firmware also
provides status information about the ServerNet II Switch, the AC transfer switch, and
the UPS.
Do not perform firmware upgrades and configuration upgrades simultaneously. Starting
one while the other is in progress will abort the one in progress. Before updating the
firmware from a node, make sure you have the required software installed on that
node. You must either upgrade all nodes to the correct release or to the correct version
of SANMAN:
Refer to the ServerNet Cluster Manual and ServerNet Cluster Switch Firmware Notes
for more information.
ServerNet II Switch Configuration
The ServerNet II Switch configuration determines the topology, node numbers
(Figure 2-1 and Figure 2-2), and the maximum number of ServerNet nodes supported.

Release SPRs Needed?
G06.09 through
G06.11 RVUs
Without SPRs on these releases, you cannot update the ServerNet II
Switch firmware. Refer to the ServerNet Cluster Manual for the SPRs
that need to be applied.
G06.12 and later
G-series RVUs
No SPRs are required.
