Verifying Software and Firmware
Verifying SP Firmware Version 
To verify that all service processors have been updated with the correct version of SP 
firmware version:
1. Determine the current SYSnn subvolume. From a TACL prompt, type:
> STATUS 0,0
2. Determine the correct version of SP firmware for your current release. At a TACL 
prompt, type:
> VPROC $SYSTEM.SYSnn.SPCODE9
3. Log on to the OSM Service Connection or the TSM Service Application. 
4. If you are using the TSM Service Application, from the toolbar, select SP Actions. 
The Service Processor Actions dialog box is displayed. Wait for the firmware 
version of each SP to be displayed. This step might take several minutes.
5. If you are using the OSM Service Connection:
a. From the Display menu, choose Multi-Resource Actions
b. Within the Multi-Resource Actions dialog box, select SP from the Resource 
Type list.
c. Compare all SP firmware versions side-by-side. You can use this dialog box to 
update them if necessary (individually or an entire fabric simultaneously).

When using OSM, this procedure is launched by the 
Replace action of the Switch Module, the ServerNet II 
Switch, the AC Transfer Switch, or the UPS.
ServerNet II Switch

the steps that must be completed before and after a 
replacement.
UPS 
Your service provider. The uninterruptible power supply 
(UPS) is a field-replaceable unit (FRU) that cannot be 
replaced by customers because it requires special 
training to avoid safety hazards. 
Service providers use the instructions in the NonStop 
S-Series Service Provider Supplement along with the 
Replace a Switch Component guided procedure.
