Verifying System Operations
Before you install or replace any equipment, verify that all existing equipment and
processes are configured, installed, and functioning correctly. Perform the following
verification steps on each node.
Verifying System Enclosures
Perform the following steps from the OSM Service Connection or TSM Service
Application:
1. From the physical view, verify that there are no red or yellow triangle icons
displayed over the enclosure diagrams.
2. If any red or yellow triangle icons are displayed, double-click the enclosure to
identify any components highlighted in red or yellow. Correct any problems before
proceeding.
Verifying Processor Status
Perform the following steps from the OSM Service Connection or TSM Service
Application:
1. From the Summary menu, select Processor Status.
2. From the Processor Status Dialog box, verify that all processors are “Executing
NonStop OS.” If any processors are down, correct the problem before proceeding.
3. Close the Processor Status dialog box.
Verifying the Status of the Internal ServerNet Fabric
Several tools are available to check the status of the internal ServerNet fabric. Correct
any problems before installing any new hardware.
Check the Communication Between Service Processors
From the OSM Service Connection or TSM Service Application:
1. From the tree pane, select the system tab.
Note. The SUBSYS $ZZSCL object cannot be started until after the nodes are configured
and the ServerNet fiber-optic cable to that node has been connected.
