Powering On a UPS
Powering On a UPS
When AC power is available to the UPS from the AC transfer switch for the first time, a
self test is initiated automatically. The front panel LEDs will go on and off during the
self test. If the self test finishes successfully, the UPS enters Standby mode.
To power on the UPS and place it in operate mode:
1. Check the LEDs on the UPS. The green battery charge LEDs (6 through 8) show
whether the UPS battery is fully charged. If LEDs 6 through 8 are not lit or if either
LED 9 or 10 is lit, refer to Verifying the AC Power on page 8-18.
2. Press the On button located on the UPS front panel (Figure 7-2).
3. Check that the green power-on LED is lit (Figure 7-2). This LED indicates whether
power is available to the ServerNet II Switch.
If the power-on LED is not lit, refer to Verifying the AC Power on page 8-18.
Note. The self-test cannot be initiated if the batteries are less than 90% charged; a portion of
the self-test requires battery power.
