Determining the Cause of a Problem
To determine the cause of a problem with a ServerNet Cluster Switch, start by trying
the easier, less expensive possibilities and then move to more complex, more
expensive possibilities only if the easier solutions fail.
Before trying to determine whether you have a hardware problem with a ServerNet II
Switch or related components, verify the following:
All nodes connected to the ServerNet II Switches are operating properly. Refer to
the NonStop S-series Operations Guide for more information.
The internal ServerNet fabrics on each node are working correctly.
All nodes connected to the ServerNet II Switches are correctly configured.
Specifically, make sure that all processes required for the operation of the
ServerNet II Switches and the ServerNet cluster are configured and started. Refer
to the ServerNet Cluster Manual for more information.
The following information will help you determine the cause of a problem. If you
cannot solve the problem, provide this information to your service provider.
What symptoms are you seeing that indicate a problem?
