Task 4: Connect the Power Cords
Task 4: Connect the Power Cords
For each switch:
1. Connect one AC power cord to the left AC power inlet on the switch.
2. Use two nylon cable ties to secure the power cord to the rear rail.
3. Cut the excess from the cable ties.
4. If using a power distribution unit:
a. Connect the other side of the power cord to an extension bar.
b. Connect the power cord on the extension bar to the PDU control unit.
c. Power on the PDU control unit.
d. Power on the outlet that this switch is connected to. The switch powers on.
5. If not using a PDU, connect the other side of the power cord to an AC power
source. The switch powers on.
6. Connect one AC power cord to the right AC power inlet on the switch.
7. Use two nylon cable ties to secure the power cord to the rear rail.
8. Cut the excess from the cable ties.
9. Connect the other side of the AC power cord to an outlet on a UPS.
