Checking the Globally Unique ID (GUID)
Using SCF
1. From an SCF prompt, type:
-> INFO SWITCH $ZZSMN, ZONE <zone#>, LAYER <layer#>, &
-> FABRIC <fabric>
2. In the display, check the Load Num Selector and Config Tag attributes. Check that
the setting is correct for this switch. Refer to Task 3: Set the Numeric Selector on
page 5-4
Using OSM
1. Log on to the OSM Service Connection.
2. From the tree pane:
a. Double-click the ServerNet cluster resource.
b. Double-click the External ServerNet Fabric for the X or Y fabric to display the
Switch Group.
c. Double-click the Switch Group to display the switch module.
d. Select the Switch Module.
3. Click the Attributes tab to display the Switch attributes.
4. Check the Logical Current Numeric selector setting attribute.
Using the LCD on the Logic Board
1. Open the rack door.
2. Open the front door of the 6780 switch.
3. Use the up or down buttons on the logic board front panel to scroll to the Firmware,
FPGA, and Configuration images running on the logic board.
4. Check the NSel. Refer to Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) on page 2-11.
Checking the Globally Unique ID (GUID)
To check the GUID, you can use either SCF or OSM.
Using SCF
1. From an SCF prompt, type:
-> INFO SWITCH $ZZSMN, ZONE <zone#>, LAYER <layer#>, &
-> FABRIC <fabric>
2. In the display, check the Globally Unique ID attribute.
3. Record the GUID for each switch in Table B-1, Planning for Switches, on page B-2.
