Checking the Switch Configuration, Firmware, and
FPGA Images
Checking the Switch Configuration, Firmware, and FPGA Images
The version of logic board firmware, configuration, and FPGA images running on the
6780 switch logic board should match the VPROC file versions on the systems. To
check, perform this procedure after you install or replace:
•
A switch
•
A logic board
•
A new RVU
•
SPRs for the logic board firmware, configuration, or FPGA
1. Check that the images loaded and running in the switch match the file versions on
the systems. Refer to:
•
Checking the VPROC File Version of Images for the Switch on page 8-9
•
Checking the Images Running on the Switch on page 8-9
2. If the versions running on each switch do not match the VPROC version, refer to
Appendix F, Updating the 6780 Switch Logic Board Firmware, Configuration, and
FPGA Images.
Checking the VPROC File Version of Images for the Switch
1. Check that the required versions for configuration, firmware, and FPGA are
installed on the systems. Refer to Software Installation Planning on page 3-5.
2. From a TACL prompt, check the VPROC of these files:
•
Firmware file:
> VPROC $SYSTEM.SYSnn.M2789
•
FPGA file:
> VPROC $SYSTEM.SYSnn.LBC2819
•
Configuration file
> VPROC $SYSTEM.SYSnn.C2790
Checking the Images Running on the Switch
You can check the firmware, configuration, and FPGA images running on the switch in
one of three ways:
•
Using SCF to Check the Switch Images on page 8-10
•
Using the OSM Service Connection to Check the Switch Images on page 8-10
•
Using the LCD to Check the Switch Images on page 8-11
