Checking the Operation of Each Node
Using the LCD to Check the Switch Images
1. Open the rack door.
2. Open the front door of the 6780 switch.
3. Use the up or down buttons on the logic board front panel to scroll to the Firmware,
FPGA, and Configuration images running on the logic board.
4. Check the Firmware, FPGA, and Configuration images. Refer to Liquid Crystal
Display (LCD) on page 2-11.
Checking the Operation of Each Node
Check the operation of each node before and after a NonStop ServerNet 6780 switch
installation or migration:

Checking the Service Processor (SP) Firmware on page 8-11
•
Checking for Alarms on Each Node on page 8-14
•
Checking the ServerNet Cluster Subsystem on page 8-14
•
Checking That the ServerNet Node Numbers Are Consistent on page 8-15
•
Checking the Internal ServerNet X and Y Fabrics on page 8-17
•
Checking the Operation of Expand Processes and Lines on page 8-18
•

Checking the Service Processor (SP) Firmware
Check the SP firmware:
•
Before adding a node to a ServerNet cluster
•
After a new RVU or SP firmware SPR is installed on all nodes in the ServerNet
cluster
To check the SP Firmware:
1. Check that a required file version of the SP firmware is installed. Refer to Software
Installation Planning on page 3-5. At a TACL prompt:
