Task 5: Connect the Cables Between Zones
Use Table 9-1 when disconnecting from zone 1.
Use Table 9-2 when disconnecting from zone 2.
Task 5: Connect the Cables Between Zones
1. Label the cables as described in Zone Cable Connections on page 6-10. When
adding zone 3, you must relabel both sides of the cables you disconnected.
2. Connect the cables between the zones. Check for link alive at both ends of each
cable. When adding zone 3, connect the relabeled zone cables between zone 2
and zone 3.
After you connect a cable to the appropriate ports on the switches, the green
ServerNet port LED near the port lights to indicate link alive.
3. If a ServerNet port LED does not remain lit continuously after 60 seconds, refer to
Green Link-Alive LED Is Not Lit on page 10-2.
Figure 9-2 illustrates the new connections to zone 3.
