Cluster Switches
ServerNet clusters support two types of cluster switches as shown in Table 1-1.
6780 Switch
The 6780 switch has a modular design, including a logic board, multiple plug-in cards
(PICs), and dual fans and power supplies for increased reliability. The 6780 switch is
used in ServerNet clusters that use the layered topology. For a detailed description of
the 6780 switch, refer to 6780 Switch on page 2-2.
6770 Switch
The 6770 switch consists of a ServerNet II Switch, AC transfer switch, and UPS. The
6770 switch is used in ServerNet clusters that use one of the star topologies.
