Power Components
These components support ServerNet clusters:

Power Distribution Unit (PDU) on page 2-17
•
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) on page 2-17
Power Distribution Unit (PDU)
The 1U modular PDU contains one control unit, four extension bars, and an attached
input cord.
For one or two 6780 switches in a rack, a PDU is not required. One PDU is required for
three or more switches in a rack. If a UPS is not installed, two PDUs are required in the
rack.
Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)
For a description of an optional UPS and extended runtime module (ERM) to support
the 6780 switches, refer to the documentation listed in UPS on page 3-14. If a UPS
and five or more switches are installed in a rack, an ERM is also required.
Rack
You can install the 6780 switches in any 19-inch rack. One option is the HP 10642
rack. You can also choose to have these components preinstalled inside the HP 10642
rack:
