NonStop S-Series Servers
Node-Numbering Agent (NNA) Field-Programmable Gate
Array (FPGA) Plug-in Card (PIC)
Port 6 of the MSEB in slots 51 and 52 in the group 01 system enclosure must contain a
single-mode, fiber-optic NNA FPGA PIC. An NNA FPGA can not be installed in other
ports of the MSEBs or in any other system enclosures. See Figure 2-6, NNA FPGA
PIC Installed in Port 6, on page 2-21.
The node-numbering agent (NNA) field-programmable gate array (FPGA):
•
Provides the fiber-optic connections between a NonStop S-series server and a
cluster switch
•
Provides the node-numbering function for the cluster
•
Converts the source ServerNet ID of packets routed to the external ServerNet
fabrics so that they can be directed to another node
•
Translates the destination ID of ServerNet packets coming from the external
ServerNet fabrics
The NNA FPGA contains an optical receiver for subscriber connectors (SC) as shown
in Figure 2-7 on page 2-22.
