Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs)
Light-Emitting Diodes (LEDs)
Several components required for ServerNet clusters provide LEDs to help you monitor
the cluster.
LED Types
The types of LEDs include:
•
Power-On LED on page 2-23
•
Fault LED on page 2-23
•
Link-Alive LED on page 2-23
Power-On LED
This LED lights when the component is powered on.
Fault LED
When lit steadily and not flashing or off, this LED indicates that a component is not in a
fully functional state. Either a fault was detected, or the component has not been
successfully initialized. When the component is powered on, the amber LED lights
briefly to indicate initialization and configuration are in progress. When the component
is successfully initialized, this LED is extinguished. To help you identify a component in
a 6780 switch, you can use either SCF or OSM to flash this LED.
Link-Alive LED
On all switch ports and the ports on the NonStop server that connect to the 6780
cluster switch, this LED lights to indicate that the port is receiving a valid link-alive
signal from the remote port to which it is connected. If the link-alive signal is lost, the
LED is not lit.
