You must plan for:

Configuration of Expand-over-ServerNet line-handler processes and lines for each
node in the ServerNet cluster
•
Compatibility with other types of Expand lines, including changing the time factors
for other line types if necessary

Plan the Configuration of Expand Lines
When you add a node to a ServerNet cluster, multiple line-handler processes must be
configured. Every node in a ServerNet cluster must have an Expand-over-ServerNet
line-handler process to every other node in the ServerNet cluster.
Automatic line-handler configuration is enabled by default. As soon as you connect the
fiber-optic cables to a node in a ServerNet cluster, Expand-over-ServerNet line-handler
processes and lines are automatically configured to and from that node to all other
nodes in the cluster. The naming convention for each line-handler process is
$SCexpand-node-number. For example, $SC035.
If automatic line-handler configuration has been disabled, or if the lines have failed to
be configured, you can manually configure the processes by using either SCF or the
Add Node to ServerNet Cluster action in the OSM Service Connection. You must give
each line-handler process a unique name. HP recommends that you use the naming
convention used for automatic line-handler generation. Table 3-2 shows the number of
Expand-over-ServerNet lines required.
