Task 8: Plan to Migrate the ServerNet Nodes From
6770 Switches
Task 8: Plan to Migrate the ServerNet Nodes From 6770
Switches
Skip this step if you are not migrating from a ServerNet cluster with 6770 switches.
1. Determine the current ServerNet node numbers for each node using either SCF or
OSM. Refer to Checking the ServerNet Node Numbers on page 8-12.
2. Using the Migrating Nodes Form on page B-3:
a. Record the system name that corresponds to each ServerNet node number in
the current ServerNet cluster.
b. Determine the corresponding 6780 switch fabric, layer, zone, PIC slot, and port
number required to maintain the same ServerNet node number. You need this
information when connecting the cables between the 6780 switch and the
node.
Task 9: Plan the ServerNet Node Numbers
1. Using Table 3-12, determine which 6780 switch is associated with each ServerNet
node number.
2. Using the ServerNet Node Number Forms on page B-4, record the names of each
node that you plan to connect to each switch.
