Replace SEB or MSEB Guided Procedure
You can use a guided replacement procedure to replace SEBs installed in slots 51 and
52 of group 01 with MSEBs, and to install a PIC in an MSEB. The online help for the
guided procedure tells you when to connect ServerNet cables to the PICs in the
MSEB.
From a system console connected to the node you are adding:
1. Log on to the OSM Service Connection.
2. From the tree pane, double-click System.
3. Double-click Group 01.
4. Double-click Module 1.1.
5. Right-click the SEB or MSEB to be replaced, and select Actions. The Actions
dialog box appears.
6. From the Available Actions drop-down list, select Replace.
7. Click Perform Action.
8. The guided procedures interface appears.
9. Before clicking Start, review the online help topic “Read This First.” To view the
online help, select Procedure Help.
Installing an NNA FPGA PIC in an MSEB
If you are installing an NNA FPGA PIC in an MSEB currently located in the group 01
enclosure:
1. Perform each step in the Replace SEB or MSEB guided procedure up to and
including removing the MSEB from the system enclosure.
2. For written instructions on installing the NNA FPGA PIC, refer to the CSSI Web
procedure “Replacing or Installing MSEB Plug-in Cards (PICs).”
3. After the PIC has been installed, refer to the guided procedure to reinstall the
MSEB into the system enclosure.
If a SEB is located in slots 51 and 52 of group 01, install an NNA FPGA PIC in an
MSEB:
1. Install the NNA FPGA PIC in the MSEB. For written instructions on installing the
NNA FPGA PIC, refer to the CSSI Web procedure “Replacing or Installing MSEB
Plug-in Cards (PICs).”
2. Remove the SEB located in slots 51 and 52 of group 01. Perform each step in the
Replace SEB or MSEB guided procedure up to and including removing the MSEB
from the system enclosure.
3. Install the new MSEB in the system enclosure.
