For system consoles connected to nodes in a ServerNet cluster, HP recommends this
LAN configuration for the best OSM performance:
For every 10 nodes in the ServerNet cluster, at least one primary system console
and one backup system console on a private LAN. No more than 10 nodes should
be included within one subnet on a private LAN.
A node can be connected to additional system consoles, which do not have to be
installed on a private LAN.
The OSM public LAN can be expanded to include all the servers in a ServerNet
cluster, provided the servers are located close enough for the Ethernet cables to
reach. Figure 3-1 shows a ServerNet cluster with an Ethernet LAN that connects
multiple nodes in the cluster. This LAN configuration allows any system console to
manage resources on any node.
