Moving the Fiber Optic Switches to the Opposite 
Position
A switch card determines the position of the fiber-optic switch: straight or crossed. To 
move the fiber-optic switches to another position,  do one of the following:
•
If you are using Nomadic Disk Manager, the GIVE command performs the 
switching. 
•
If you are not using Nomadic Disk Manager:
•
Issue commands from the Switch Command Interface (SWCI) to each switch. 
See Section 6, Switch Command Interface (SWCI). The SWCI commands affect 
the switch card only if the key switch on the switch controller card is set to the 
REMOTE position.
•
Physically move the toggle switches. The toggle switches affect the switch card 
only if the key switch on the switch controller card is set to the LOCAL 
position.
