START Command
START Command
START is a sensitive command that initiates the operation of a specified object.
START LBU Command
Use the START LBU command to initiate the operation of the specified ServerNet/FX
adapter. Successful completion of the START LBU command leaves the specified LBU
in the STARTED summary state.
The START LBU command syntax is
OUT file-spec
causes any SCF output generated for this command to be directed to the specified
file.
LBU
is a keyword specifying that an LBU name comes next on the command line.
LBU-name
is the name of the LBU ($ZZFOX.#X or $ZZFOX.#Y) associated with the
ServerNet/FX adapter to be started.
Considerations
•
The SCF prompt appears on screen when the START LBU command finishes
processing.
•
The START LBU command is rejected unless the ServerNet/FX adapter is in the
STOPPED or UNKNOWN summary state.
•
If the ServerNet/FX adapter does not start, FOX error number 6 and the status of
the ServerNet/FX adapter (indicating the reason for the START LBU failure) are
displayed.
•
If the ServerNet/FX adapter starts successfully, no message is displayed.
•
If the name of a system is changed (for example, from \PRUNE to \FORTY) the
associated LBUs must be deleted using the SCF DELETE command then added
using the SCF ADD command before the LBUs are started using the SCF START
LBU command.
