STATS LBU Command Example
3. The condition of the sending FOX adapter and have it replaced if
necessary.
Framing Left Right
identifies the number of framing errors that have been detected on the left
(right) link. A framing error indicates receipt of a corrupted piece of data. The
corrupted data is discarded and recovery is automatic. If this value is
persistently nonzero, there is a probable hardware problem with the sending
FOX adapter and the user should check the following in the order listed:
1. The condition of the sending FOX adapter and have it replaced if
necessary.
2. The power setting on the left (right) neighbor. If the fiber-optic cables are
greater than two (2) kilometers long, the power setting should be one (1).
Runaway Pkts Left Right
identifies the number of packets that were received from the left (right) and
discarded because they were unclaimed after passing through all the nodes on
the ring. No operator action is required. A nonzero value in this field can
indicate that a FOX adapter has been stopped on a remote cluster.
BadSrc Pkts Left Right
identifies the number of packets with invalid source cluster numbers received
from the left (right) link. A persistent nonzero value in this field indicates a FOX
adapter firmware problem on the left (right) neighbor’s adapter. Contact your
service provider for assistance in diagnosing and correcting the problem.
BadDest Pkts Left Right
identifies the number of packets with invalid destination cluster numbers
received from the left (right) link. A persistent nonzero value in this field
indicates a FOX adapter firmware problem on the left (right) neighbor’s
adapter. Contact your service provider for assistance in diagnosing and
correcting the problem.
Under Runs Left Right
identifies the number of underrun errors detected on the left (right) link. A
nonzero value in this field indicates a hardware problem on the local
ServerNet/FX adapter. Contact your service provider. The ServerNet/FX
adapter may need to be replaced.
Note. A few CRC errors occur normally when the FOX microcode is downloaded;
these do not indicate a failure.
