object abruptly without regard for interruption of data transfer.
adapter. See ServerNet/FX adapter.
ADD command. A sensitive SCF command that adds the configuration records for the
specified object to the system configuration database.

program file and its user ID. An attribute is sometimes called a modifier. All attributes
can be viewed and some can be modified.
backplane. A board that has connectors, on one or both sides of the board, into which
circuit board assemblies plug. Backplanes are located behind card cages.
BIC. Backplane interconnect card. Not applicable to NonStop S-series servers. See
ServerNet/FX adapter.
cluster. A term used to describe a system in a Fiber Optic Extension (FOX) ring. Also
known as a node.
cluster number. A unique number assigned to a FOX cluster, ranging from 1 to 14.
Compaq TSM package. A software product for NonStop S-series servers that provides the
information needed to perform functions such as querying resources and testing,
provides notification of problems on the system, and allows local or remote access to
the system for service and maintenance. TSM performs the same role as that of
TMDS, Syshealth, and Remote Maintenance Interface (RMI) on earlier NonStop
systems.
CONNECT command. A sensitive SCF command that logically connects a link on the FOX
ring subnetwork for the specified ServerNet/FX adapter. You need to use the
CONNECT command only after disconnecting a link on the FOX ring by using the
DISCONNECT command.
CPU stuck. A state in which a processor in a cluster on a FOX ring loses all four FOX direct
logical paths (XL, XR, YL, and YR) to a processor in another cluster on the FOX ring.
CPU stuck is not a state of the processor itself. See also Path down.
CRU. See customer-replaceable unit (CRU).
customer engineer (CE). See service provider.
