ServerNet/FX Adapter Object Types and Names
PATH Object
The PATH object identifies a single FOX direct logical path from a processor in the
local cluster to a processor in one of the other clusters on a FOX ring. Within each
cluster on a FOX ring, every processor maintains a FOX direct logical connection,
consisting of four unidirectional FOX direct logical paths, to any other processor in any
other cluster on the FOX ring. The unidirectional paths are called XL (FOX ring on X
fabric, Left-direction), XR (FOX ring on X fabric, Right-direction), YL (FOX ring on Y
fabric, Left-direction), and YR (FOX ring on Y fabric, Right-direction). The PATH object
enables management of the ServerNet/FX adapter subsystem at the
processor-to-processor level.
Figure 1-3 provides a conceptual illustration of the logical connections associated with
the ServerNet/FX adapter subsystem.
Figure 1-4 on page 1-8 provides a conceptual illustration of FOX direct logical
connections, which consist of four FOX direct logical paths (XL, XR, YL, and YR) in
each direction, between two processors on a FOX ring.
