The following is an example of creating an LBU for the ServerNet/FX 2 adapter
connected to the X-ring:
ADD LBU $ZZFOX.#X, LOCATION (1,1,53), &
PROGRAM $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.M6742, MODULE STANDARD, &
SAMPLEINT 1:00:00.000, CLUSTERNUM 4, POWERLEFT 0, &
POWERRIGHT 0, STARTSTATE STARTED
The following is an example of creating an LBU for the ServerNet/FX 2 adapter
connected to the Y-ring:
ADD LBU $ZZFOX.#Y, LOCATION (1,1,54), &

Adding a NonStop S-Series Server to a FOX
Ring Overview
After the FOX monitor process has been created and started, and the LBUs have been
configured, you are ready to add the NonStop S-series server to an existing FOX ring.
The following provides an overview of the tasks necessary to add a NonStop S-series
server to a FOX ring. The tasks are explained in detail in Adding a Cluster to a FOX
Ring on page 3-14:
1. Disconnect the corresponding LBUs at the new cluster’s cable neighbors.
2. Physically insert the new cluster in the FOX ring.
Caution. Never put a copy of M6742 in the $SYSTEM.SYSTEM subvolume.
Caution. Never put a copy of M6740 in the $SYSTEM.SYSTEM subvolume.
