Adding a NonStop S-Series Server to a FOX Ring
Overview
This task must be performed by a HP-trained service provider. Fiber-optic cabling
instructions are provided for the ServerNet/FX adapter in the ServerNet/FX
Adapter Installation and Support Guide and for the ServerNet/FX 2 adapter in the
ServerNet/FX 2 Adapter Installation and Support Guide.
3. Connect the corresponding LBUs at the new cluster’s cable neighbors.
4. Connect the new cluster to the FOX ring.
5. Create and start the Expand-over-FOX line-handler processes.
Creating Expand-over-FOX line-handler processes on NonStop systems running
the G-series NonStop Kernel operating system is explained in the Expand
Configuration and Management Manual. Creating Expand-over-FOX line-handler
processes on NonStop systems running the D-series NonStop Kernel operating
system is explained in the System Generation Manual for Expand.
6. Start the LBUs at the new cluster.
7. Start the Expand-over-FOX lines.
8. Verify that the new lines have started.
