Altering Configuration Attributes
Altering Configuration Attributes
Reconfiguration tasks include the following:

Altering an LBU Configuration
•
Altering the FOX Monitor Process ($ZZFOX) Configuration using the Kernel
Subsystem
Altering Expand-over-FOX line-handler processes is explained in the Expand
Configuration and Management Manual.
Altering an LBU Configuration
You can use the ServerNet/FX adapter subsystem SCF commands, the OSM Service
Connection, or TSM Service Application to alter the configuration of a specified LBU.
Using SCF Commands
You use the ServerNet/FX adapter subsystem SCF ALTER LBU command to change
certain LBU configuration attributes. The following LBU configuration attributes can be
altered:
Using the OSM or TSM Client Software
You can use the OSM Service Connection or the TSM Service Application to perform
actions to alter the LBU configuration for a specified ServerNet/FX adapter. Actions
include:

Set Left Transmitter Power Level High or Low
•
Set Right Transmitter Power Level High or Low
•
Set FOX Cluster Number
SCF Attribute
Name Action Performed
CLUSTERNUM Changes the cluster number of the server.
MODULE Changes the object module used in the microcode file specified by the
PROGRAM attribute.
POWERLEFT Changes the power level for the link to the left cluster.
POWERRIGHT Changes the power level for the link to the right cluster.
PROGRAM Changes the file used for downloadable operational microcode.
SAMPLEINT Changes the time interval after which $ZZFOX resets all statistical
counters.
STARTSTATE Changes the start mode of the LBU.
