Stopping an LBU
Using SCF Commands for the ServerNet/FX Adapter
Subsystem
The ServerNet/FX adapter subsystem SCF START LBU command starts the flow of
messages from the FOX ring through a specified LBU. Successful completion of the
command leaves the specified LBU in the STARTED state.
To start the LBU for the ServerNet/FX adapter connected to the X-ring, issue the
following SCF START LBU command :
SCF> START LBU $ZZFOX.#X
To start the LBU for the ServerNet/FX adapter connected to the Y-ring, issue the
following SCF START LBU command :
SCF> START LBU $ZZFOX.#Y
If the LBU was previously disconnected using the SCF DISCONNECT LBU command,
you must use the SCF CONNECT LBU command to start messages flowing in and out
of the right and left sides of the ServerNet/FX adapter; you do not need to use the SCF
CONNECT LBU command if the LBU was not previously disconnected.
For example, to connect the right side of the ServerNet/FX adapter to the X-ring, issue
the following SCF CONNECT LBU command:
SCF> CONNECT LBU $ZZFOX.#X, RIGHT
To connect the left side of the same adapter, issue the following SCF CONNECT LBU
command:
SCF> CONNECT LBU $ZZFOX.#X, LEFT
Using the OSM or TSM Client Software
You can use the Start LBU action in the OSM Service Connection or the Start action in
the TSM Service Application to start an LBU for a specified ServerNet/FX adapter.
Stopping an LBU
You can stop an LBU by using the ServerNet/FX adapter subsystem SCF interface, the
OSM Service Connection, or the TSM Service Application.
Note. If the name of a system is changed (for example, from \PRUNE to \FORTY) the
associated LBUs must be deleted using the SCF DELETE command then added using the
SCF ADD command before the LBUs are started using the SCF START command.
Note. Stopping an LBU on a NonStop system running the D-series NonStop Kernel operating
system is explained in the Expand Network Management Guide for D-series systems.
