Stopping an LBU
At the right cable neighbor:
If the right cable neighbor is running the D-series NonStop Kernel operating
system, enter the following SCF command:
SCF> DISCONNECT LBU $IPB.#Y,LEFT
If the right cable neighbor is running the G-series NonStop Kernel operating
system, enter the following SCF command:
SCF> DISCONNECT LBU $ZZFOX.#Y,LEFT
To disconnect the LBU for the ServerNet/FX adapter connected to X-ring at the local
cluster, you would use the following SCF commands at the cluster’s cable neighbors:
At the left cable neighbor:
If the left cable neighbor is running the D-series NonStop Kernel operating system,
enter the following SCF command:
SCF> DISCONNECT LBU $IPB.#X,RIGHT
If the left cable neighbor is running the G-series NonStop Kernel operating system,
enter the following SCF command:
SCF> DISCONNECT LBU $ZZFOX.#X,RIGHT
At the right cable neighbor:
If the right cable neighbor is running the D-series NonStop Kernel operating
system, enter the following SCF command:
SCF> DISCONNECT LBU $IPB.#X,LEFT
If the right cable neighbor is running the G-series NonStop Kernel operating
system, enter the following SCF command:
SCF> DISCONNECT LBU $ZZFOX.#X,LEFT
Task 3: Stop the LBU at the local cluster
After the corresponding LBUs are disconnected at the cluster’s cable neighbors, you
can stop the LBU at the selected cluster by issuing the SCF STOP LBU command.
Successful completion of the command leaves the specified LBU in the STOPPED
state and stops the flow of messages from the FOX ring to the specified LBU.
To stop the LBU for the ServerNet/FX adapter connected to the Y-ring on the local
cluster, issue the following ServerNet/FX adapter subsystem SCF command :
SCF> STOP LBU $ZZFOX.#Y
Note. By first disconnecting the Y-link and then disconnecting the X-link, you can avoid
unnecessary outage time during the disconnection process.
